Suicide attack near Mush camp office
Tribune News Service

Islamabad, October 30
Seven persons, including three policemen, were killed and 16 injured on Tuesday when a suicide bomber blew himself in front of army headquarters, near President Pervez Musharraf’s camp office, in Rawalpindi.

At the time of blast, Musharraf was presiding over a meeting of provincial governors and senior officials on security situation in the country against the backdrop of fresh military operation in Swat, attack on PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto in Karachi and implication of the Supreme Court verdict on petitions challenging his eligibility to contest.

“It was a suicide attack,” interior ministry spokesman Brig Javed Iqbal Cheema told reporters. The head of the bomber was recovered from the spot, he said. Two police officials and a constable were also killed in the attack.
