Cong candidate among 4 shot Guwahati, November 3 Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) secretary M.R. Borbhuyan told The Tribune that Darbeikham Hmar, party poll candidate for the forthcoming North Cachar Hill Autonomous District Council (NCHADC) election, was shot dead along with his two PSOs and the driver by a group unidentified gunmen while he was returning to Haflong town after campaigning in Lower Kharpong. The election to the constituency was scheduled for November 26. According to the police manning Haflong police station, the needle of suspicion pointed towards the Black Widow group that has been, of late, on the rampage in the hill district. |
