Awareness can save eyes, says surgeon
Mandi Ahmedgarh, November 4 Talking to office-bearers of social and educational organisations of the area, Rana said timely and concerted action taken could diminish if not eliminate chances of getting human eyes damaged due to explosives. Referring to a study conducted on the basis of previous hospital records, Rana says boys between in age group of 5 to 14 suffer highest firework-related injuries. Among adults, 58 per cent eye injures are caused by bottle rockets. A majority of eye injuries are caused due to intentional aiming of explosive device on others and malfunctioning of fireworks.
