Ludhiana, November 11
Manoranjan Kalia, minister of industry and local bodies, Punjab, exhorted the teachers to enthuse the qualities of discipline, moral values and humanity amongst students, so that they could make excellent contribution in the development of society.

Kalia was addressing a function organised to celebrate 138th birth anniversary of Jain Acharya Shrimad Vijay Vallabh Surishwer at S.A.N Jain Senior Secondary School here today.

He said our ancient civilian and traditional system of education had been guiding the whole world in the past and even now our social and moral values were proving to be source of inspiration for the people of our country.

No country could make substantial development without providing quality education to its citizens, he added.

The minister called upon the students to acquire excellence in the professional education so that they could compete for job opportunities at world level created.

He announced a grant of Rs 1 lakh for the school and released two souvenirs of the school. The minister also announced to get the expired lease deed of the school land further extended.

Harish Bedi, MLA, O.P. Bhardwaj, district president of BJP, Anil Sarin, general secretary of BJP, Punjab, Acharya Sudh Bhaskar Jain, president of the Achrya Jain Education Board, Kashmiri Lal Jain and Sanjiv Kumar Jain were also present.
