Parents of child suffering from cancer hard up
Ludhiana, November 13
Sumit, a two and a half years old child, was admitted to the paediatric surgery ward of Christian Medical College and Hospital here with cancer (neuroblastoma) of neck and upper chest. The disease is progressing rapidly and blocking his wind pipe. The condition did not allow the child to undergo a simple investigation yesterday and he had to be put on the ventilator.
Woman succumbs to burns

A woman of Basti Jodhewal succumbed to burn injuries in a local hospital after she had set herself on fire in her house last night. She was allegedly upset at illicit relationship of her husband.
Freedom fighter dead

Jagir Singh, belonging to the Gadar Party, who played a significant role in getting Independence to the country, died at Sahibana village near Kohara here last night. He was 90. He was cremated at his village with full honours here today.
