PM meets Vajpayee

New Delhi, November 14
On the eve of the winter session of the Parliament, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met BJP patriarch Atal Bihari Vajpayee tonight and discussed the Indo-US nuclear deal. Singh drove to the former Prime Minister's 6A, Krishna Menon Marg residence this evening.

Leader of the Opposition, L.K. Advani, was also present during the meeting.

“In the course of the meeting, they discussed current political issues, including the nuclear deal,” PMO spokesman Sanjaya Baru said.

The Prime Minister’s initiative to meet Vajpayee assumes significance as the BJP had last week demanded that the deal be renegotiated. — PTI
