Big fish evade police net
Ludhiana, November 20
Even though the police has arrested seven persons in the last few days on charges of circulating fake currency, none of the prime accused or gang leaders have been nabbed so far. Those arrested were only conduits.

Luthra, an employee with a local bank, was nabbed with just Rs 2,500 counterfeit notes.
Brick-kiln assn head booked
for fraud

The police has booked Inderpal Walia, president of the Ludhiana District Brick-kiln Owners Association, and Rajesh Kumar Singla on charges of duping a brick-kiln owner of Rs 2.87 lakh by not supplying him coal despite taking money in advance.
