PAU dons caution farmers against late blight

For the past two to three years the cultivation of potatoes is being seriously affected by the late blight, a fungal disease, which is more prevalent in
Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Nawanshahr, Ropar and Amritsar districts. A campaign was launched during this cropping season to save the crops from this disease.
Animals’ death due to urea spray: Experts
Ludhiana, December 1
The experts from GADVASU have revealed that nitrate poisoning (for speeding-up fodder growth) on fodder was responsible for the death of 95 buffaloes at a dairy on Tajpur road here on November 28. The experts said despite their repeated warning to farmers, the latter still used urea spray to get good crop at the earliest.
