Sinha gives privilege notice against PM
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, December 6
Former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha today sought to raise in the Rajya Sabha the breach of privilege notice he has given against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for speaking “an untruth” about his visit to Japan. Sinha, who sought to raise the matter amid interruptions during the zero hour, said that he had filed a breach of privilege against the Prime Minister. “I never went to Japan,” Sinha said.

The Prime Minister, during the discussion on the nuclear deal, had rejected suggestions by Sinha that the government had not signed agreements with Russia on additional reactors for Koodnakulum under US pressure.

While asserting that the agreements could be signed only after requisite approvals from the IAEA and NSG, the Prime Minister took a swipe at Sinha, saying that the former minister was perhaps reminded of his own tenure, when, as finance minister he could not meet his counterpart in Japan.
