The stripping of an Adivasi girl at a recent rally in Assam both shamed and outraged the country. But even as the distraught victim and her family are yet to come to terms with what struck them, political parties and ethnic groups in the state are out to exploit the incident for furthering their own agenda. Your film Awaarapan got critical acclaim but did not get the popularity as expected.
To be honest, it did bother me initially. It is human nature to feel bad about not getting what you expect. The fact that it was a good film further aggravated the situation. But, now I have moved ahead and realised that apart from making a good film, it’s equally important to plot the right release time as well.
