Ludhiana, December 16
Barely two days after a train-bus accident in Moga, another train, 9 Ludhiana-Ferozepur DMU, hit a tempo at an unmanned crossing near Nanaksar gurdwara, about 5 km from Jagraon, tonight, injuring 18 persons. The condition of four of the injured was stated to be critical.

The injured were volleyball players of a local club. They were returning from a village near Ferozepur after participating in a tournament. The tempo driver could not see the approaching train due to dense fog. Naveen Pal, SHO of Jagraon city, said the critically injured were being shifted to Ludhiana. The railway and the Jagraon police were jointly supervising the rescue operation.
