Ahmedabad, December 21
After being suspended from the BJP, Surendranagar MP Somabhai Patel today came down heavily on Chief Minister Narendra Modi and said he would “work for the Congress” in Gujarat.
“For the past 47 years, we have toiled with veteran BJP leader Keshubhai Patel to build the party in the state,” he said.
“Leaders like Modi have simply reaped the fruits of our hard labour in Gujarat,” Patel told PTI over phone while reacting to his suspension from the party.
“We have been suspended (from the BJP) due to Modi who is running the party in Gujarat in a dictatorial manner,” alleged Patel, an influential Koli community leader.
“I have supported the Congress in the present Gujarat assembly elections and will continue to work for the Congress and defeat the BJP in the state,” he said.
Patel said when the Koli girl Chandani was murdered (near Datar shrine of Junagadh district in May this year), he had gone to meet the Chief Minister but Modi did not bother to meet him.
