With Bollywood going gaga over hockey, one may believe that the sport is back with a bang. Sadly, the inside story is not that glossy. “Chak De” girls may have conquered the world, but the hockey girls in the country are still struggling to find a foothold.

Doordarshan Kendra Jalandhar won 10 national DD awards at a function held on February 4 in Mumbai. Constituted seven years ago, the national DD awards aim at promoting positive competitiveness among the regional DD centres across the country.
