Bar association meet: A joint meeting of the members of both the Bar associations of Mohali was held here on Thursday at which it was unanimously decided that a common association of the lawyers be formed in the town. Parminder Singh Toor, General Secretary, Bar association, Mohali, said it was decided to hold elections in this regard and a seven-member committee was constituted which would prepare a list of the members of both the associations by April 10. The date for holding the election and the appointment of the returning officer would be decided after scrutinising the list.

Medical camp: Social activist Satish Kumar Joshi, along with his other associates, is organising a medical camp at the shopping complex in Sector 3 here on April 5 and 6. He said that patients suffering from cervical and joint pain, migraine, depression and other gastric ailments would be provided treatment through the acupressure and acupuncture system of treatment by Dr Pradeep Kumar Bansal, a specialist from Delhi. Man killed in mishap: A man was killed while his wife and son were seriously injured, when the scooter the family was riding was hit by a canter near the Ding road on the national highway on Friday. Victim Laxman Yadav hailed from Bihar and was working at liquor vend here. The other two were seriously injured and were rushed to hospital. TNS One killed: Himmat Singh, a farmer, was killed when the jeep he was driving hit into a tractor trolley near Ottu head on Thursday. He was returning to Sirsa from his fields in Dhamora Theri village when the incident happened. He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, but was shifted to Hisar due to his serious condition. He, however, succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.

2 kids die in mishaps: Two children were killed in two separate accidents in this district on Friday. One Lot Ram (5) was crushed to death by a Jeep at the Ghiyagi Bridge in the Banjar subdivision. The child was adopted by one Fateh Chand only a month back. In another accidental death one child Ajay Kumar (10) took insecticide by mistake in the Chahavi village of Ani sub division of the district. He was declared brought dead by the doctors in the Ani Hospital. OC Three held: The police nabbed one woman and two men involved in immoral practices from a rented building at Dhalpur, near regional hospital, here on Wednesday night. According to the police, one Roshan Lal, son of Ruldu Ram of Joginder nagar in Mandi district, was allegedly involved in sex racket and operating at three places in Kullu town. On the complaint of the neighbours, the police raided the premises and found the arrested persons in objectionable posture.
