Chandigarh, May 4
Prafullachandra Harsukhrai Vaishnav, former Chief Secretary of Punjab, died here today after a brief illness. He was 77.
Belonging to the 1956 batch of the IAS, PH Vaishnav held various important positions in the state government, including Financial Commissioner Development before his elevation as Chief Secretary in May 1985. He had served as Chief Electoral Officer in 1982.
After retiring from civil service, he remained associated with various organisations, including senior citizens federation of Greater Chandigarh area.
The Punjab IAS officers Association has condoled his
death.
