Rs 4.5 lakh looted: Three persons looted Rs 4.5 lakh from Muthhoot finance company at gunpoint here on Wednesday. According to the eyewitness, three persons visited the company on a bike. Two of them went inside the office located at third floor of the building in Sector 14 at old Delhi road and one kept on waiting outside. They managed to keep all staff on gunpoint and took away the cash. KURUKSHETRA
Research paper: A research paper of Dr Lalit Kishore (63), an alumnus of Kurukshertra University, has got the distinction of being selected by British Library, London, for circulation to other scholars involved in the educational research. The paper entitled “Role playing through elementary mathematical concepts” was initially published by the Commonwealth Association of Science Technology and Mathematics Educators in the CASTME journal of the UK.

One killed in mishap: Anjali (19), a resident of Kanpur (UP) and a member of an orchestra, was killed while her associates, Jai Ram and Lalit Kumar, were injured when the Maruti van reportedly rammed into a tractor-trailer parked on the Narnaul-Rewari road at Peethrawas village, near here, on Tuesday. The mishap occurred when they were returning to Delhi after giving a performance at a wedding ceremony at Narnaul. The Rampura police has registered a case of causing dangerous obstruction in public way as well as causing death by negligence under Sections 283, 304-A of the IPC against the driver of tractor-trailer, who fled from the spot after the mishap.
Man commits suicide: A retired teacher, Sheotaj Singh Yadav (68), of Zenabad village reportedly committed suicide by jumping before a train near Dahina station, 22 km from here, on Wednesday. Sources said he was having some mental perturbation, which led him to take the extreme step. The Government Railway Police, which held inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the
CrPC, has treated it as a case of suicidal death.ROHTAK
Poll survey: A team of 25 students of Maharishi Dayanand University has started the work on post-poll survey in the various parliamentary constituencies of the state. This survey is the part of the UGC’s project on “Lok Sabha Elections 2009: A Behavioural Study of Political Attitudes and Opinion in Haryana” in collaboration with the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi. 28 booths critical: Thirty duty magistrates and 64 sector magistrates have been appointed by the authorities in Sirsa seat that goes to polls tomorrow. S K Goyal, Returning Officer for the Sirsa seat, said 28 out of the 659 polling booths in the district had been identified as critical. The authorities had also identified 162 booths as hypersensitive and 160 booths as sensitive. SP Subhash Yadav said 4 companies of the central forces and 4 of the HAP had been deployed in the district.
