Passengers harassed as trains hit by violence
Ludhiana, May 25
With the entire rail traffic virtually paralysed all through the day after violence erupted in many parts of the city, and burning down some coaches of Kanyakumari-Jammu Himsagar Express near Jalandhar, thousands of outbound passengers, a majority of them with confirmed reservation tickets were stranded at the railway station here today.
Curfew takes its toll on industry

Business was greatly affected owing to curfew clamped in the city following protests and violence in the wake of the attack on Dera Sachkhand head Niranjan Dass and his follower Rama Nand in Austria.

Baba Maingal Singh drowned in Harike Pattan
Jagraon, May 25
A pall of gloom descended over the Nanaksar Kaleran and among the followers of Nanaksar sect with the breaking of the news of boat being drowned at Harike Pattan today. Baba Maingal Singh (75) of Nanaksar Kaleran today met a tragic end as the boat, in which he was lodged, capsized in Hari-Ke-Pattan.

Office timings of PAU changed

Punjab Agricultural University office timing will be changed from 8.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. from June 1 till further orders due to hot weather conditions. This information was given by Dr RK Mahey, registrar, PAU. He said the university would continue to function for five days a week.
