Lived a boy named Dhido Ranjha

His father had died

And left some barren land behind

He was the youngest of four brothers

Who quarreled with him on silly matters

So he left the place

In search of a friend to face the fate

He met Heer Saleti suddenly

And both fell in love exultantly

Heer asked her father to keep Ranjha as a servant

And told Ranjha to be patient

Her father had agreed

Ranjha was caught in many a

difficult deed

Ranjha became a cowhand

For 12 years even though he was a king

But for the sake of Heer’s love

It was just nothing

And this shows the meaning of

love for him

Day by day the love between them was rising

And soon Heer’s wicked uncle Khaidon came to know everything

Heer was forcibly married to a Khera King

Whereas Ranjha became a jogi and left behind many things

Heer could not forget Ranjha

So she quietly fled to Takht Hazara

Soon they both met in a garden

Where she discovered that Ranjha

Could lead to bridge of Salvation

For the marriage of Heer and Ranjha

Her mother and father had agreed

But unfortunately Khaidon

poisoned Heer

When Ranjha got the news

He rushed to confirm other

people’s views

Heer died in his lap

And Ranjha in his wrath collapsed

But for all the lovers they are still alive

And for them, they are the best guide
