North continues to reel under heat New Delhi, June 25 Maximum temperature hovered above 40°C mark in several parts of Uttar Pradesh. Jhansi recorded the highest temperature of 44.7°C, seven notches above normal. The state capital of Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 40.6°C, three degrees above the normal mark, while Bareilly sizzled at 41°C. Allahabad, Gorakhpur and Varanasi in eastern UP, recorded the maximum temperature at 39.8, 38.8 and 40.4°C, respectively. Rajasthan continued to experience blistering heat waves with Ganganagar recording a maximum of 45°C, followed by Churu (44.3°C), Met department said. Bikaner, Jaipur and Kota recorded maximum of 43.2, 41.3 and 41°C, respectively, while Jodhpur, Ajmer and Jaisalmer recorded 40.5, 39.5 and 39.2°C. — PTI
