Education Policy
— A Tribune Debate

The Yashpal Committee on education reforms and the plans announced by the new HRD Minister, Kapil Sibal, have aroused nation-wide interest among parents, educationists, political parties and policy-makers.

Before Parliament and the Union Cabinet discuss these reforms, we thought we should start a debate in The Tribune to let the academia, educationists and commentators air their views through its columns.

The 10th article in the debate, “Opportunity for India — Develop skill or perish” by Lt-Gen S.S. Mehta (retd), appears on page 8.

More articles on the Education Policy and Reforms will follow during the next few days.
