| We
have a friendly relationship with Iran. We
both took certain positions on some issues which were not to each
              other’s liking.
  We
would not like to compromise on non-proliferation.
  They
registered their concern and disappointment at our stand.
  Assessment
of nuclear swap deal only after we know the details.
  By
and large, India is against the sanctions route.
 | We must eliminate the trust deficit. The
only way forward is to get back to the negotiating table.
  Let
us remember that we are two nuclear powers.
  The
Taliban and other terrorist outfits are active even in Pakistan
              against the establishment.
  India’s
national interest comes first and we would have friendly and
cordial relations with Pakistan and with all the neighbours.
 | President
Karzai has been very friendly towards India. India
went to Afghanistan on the invitation of the legitimate
              government.
  We
went with aid to rebuild the nation, not with guns.
  We
              build school buildings and roads.
  Afghanistan
and India will not keep away from each other.
 | When
Secretary Clinton, came to Delhi we decided to raise the level of
our relationship to strategic partnership. US
Administration was able to see India’s point of view and
              appreciate India’s concern about terror.
  Terror
              can strike anywhere.
  Negotiations
are going on and the nitty-gritty as to how we make the civil
              nuclear treaty workable.
