SC: Raja ignored PM’s advice on 2G
New Delhi, December 1
The Supreme Court today said that former Telecom Minister A Raja had violated the collective responsibility of the Cabinet by “brushing aside” the advices of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the ministries of finance and law in the matter of allocation of 2G Spectrum in 2008 at 2001 prices.

In a major step, the government
today moved a Bill in the Parliament for setting up a National
Judicial Oversight Committee for going into allegations of misconduct
against Judges of the High Courts(HC) and the Supreme Court(SC)and
imposing “minor penalties” or recommending removal from office.
Patil recommends action
against UT Finance Secy

Chandigarh Administrator Shivraj
Patil has recommended immediate and strict action against UT Finance
Secretary Sanjay Kumar. Patil, who is also the Governor of Punjab, is
believed to have sent a strongly worded note to the Ministry of Home
Affairs recommending action against Sanjay Kumar, a 1987 batch IAS
officer of the Punjab cadre who is on deputation to the Chandigarh
Administration.
