The Prime Minister and his Council of Ministers today made their assets, liabilities and business interests of their spouses and dependents public. The details volunteered by the ministers, barring 18 who are yet to file their  declarations, were posted  on the PM’s website  (pmindia.nic.in) and made available in the ‘Right to Information’ section.

Govt to seek recall of ‘Sehajdhari’ order
To move a petition in HC tomorrow saying that Harbhagwan was never engaged
Chandigarh, September 3
The Union of India, in a petition likely to be moved on Monday, is going on record to state that senior advocate Harbhagwan Singh was never engaged for the Sehajdhari voting rights case. The application to be submitted for recalling the order of disposing the case, made by the Punjab & Haryana High Court on the basis of Harbhagwan Singh’s statement, is expected to be moved by the Assistant Solicitor General of India Anmol Rattan Singh Sidhu with the request that it be taken up on Monday itself.

In its effort to bring lasting peace in Assam, the government today signed an agreement with the banned ULFA to end violence in the troubled northeastern state and set the ball rolling for peace talks. 

Daredevilry on trains: Deadly craze sweeps Maximum City
Mumbai, September 3
An amateur video posted online of two young men performing stunts on Mumbai’s local trains has sparked off a deadly craze that has left at least one teen seriously injured. The video posted on YouTube featuring two teenagers hanging precariously from a Mumbai local train, reaching out dangerously to touch electric pylons whizzing by and then skating on a railway platform holding on to the moving train.

Global economy in danger zone, says World Bank
Beijing, September 3
The world economy is stepping into a "new danger zone,"  World Bank President Robert Zoellick said on Saturday, as growth slows and investor confidence weakens. Speaking in Beijing, Zoellick urged Europe and the United States to tackle their debt problems, and noted that near record-high food prices and volatile commodity markets are threatening the most world's vulnerable people.

Nitish gives month’s salary for green cause
Patna, September 3
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today donated his one month salary (Rs 99,500) to his party, Janata Dal (United), to boost up the ‘Green Bihar campaign. Nitish also made an appeal to all his cabinet colleagues, party legislators and those party leaders occupying different posts in the state government undertakings to part with their one month’s salary for this purpose.
