Poet PK Ashk invited to Urdu conference
in Pakistan

Pathankot, November 7
City-based Urdu poet of international fame Parveen Kumar Ashk has received an invitation from the Writers Forum, Karachi in Pakistan, to attend the five-day All World Urdu Conference and Mushiara being held at Karachi from November 17 and onward.
The renowned Urdu scholar and writer of Delhi, Dr Gopi Chand Narang, is likely to preside over the conference, said a communiqué received through an e-mail by Ashk from Fatema Hassan and Asif Farukhi, member-organisers of the conference.
It is also communicated to Ashk that distinguished writers and poets from across the world are expected to participate in the five-day mega event aimed at the promotion of Urdu language.
Ashk himself is a man of god gifted Urdu poetic mind who not only wrote Urdu poetry to the taste of the Urdu lovers but
also found a place in the Bollywood.
Leading Urdu magazines of India as well as foreign states have published
his ghazals.
Parveen Kumar Ashk has authored Dar-B-Dar, Chandni Ke Khtoot, Ghazal Tere Shehr Mein and Do-guj-zameen; collections of Urdu ghazals. He is the recipient of many prestigious awards,
including Shahenshah-e-ghazal, Firaque Gorkhpuri Urdu Award, Ghazal Bhaskar Award, Ghazal Hero, Bihar Urdu Academy Award, the Bengal Urdu Academy Award and the literary award bestowed
by the language department of Punjab.
