10-year jail for drug peddler

Tarn Taran: The District and Sessions Court awarded Vijay Kumar, a drug peddler, a 10-year rigorous imprisonment. The court of the GC Garg, Additional District and Sessions Judge, also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on Vijay. The accused was arrested by the Chabal police in 2006 with 1 lakh capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon. — OC

Seven arrested

Batala: Seven persons, including five women, were arrested for human trafficking here on Friday. Sub Inspector Balwinder Singh raided the house of Navneet Kaur at Simble Chowk here where five women and two customers were arrested for indulging in immoral trafficking. — OC
