Boy commits suicide

Phagwara, June 24 
An unidentified teenaged boy reportedly committed suicide by jumping before Amritsar-bound Katihar Express near Mauli village on Phagwara-Ludhiana rail section last night. The GRP has kept the body in the mortuary of the local Civil Hospital for identification.

Man dies of sunstroke

A labourer, identified as Dharam Pal of Miowal village died due to sunstroke while working in the fields in nearby Jagatpur-Jattan village yesterday. The police has sent the body to Phagwara Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Pilgrim dies in mishap

One pilgrim, identified as Jagdish Kumar of Kathua, died in a road mishap near Phagwara yesterday. He succumbed to his injuries in Jalandhar hospital. Nine more pilgrims sustained injuries in the mishap. OC
