Special train to South a boon for travellers from city

LUDHIANA: Introduction of a special train between Jammu and Secunderabad will come as a boon for travellers to South from the city while it will also serve the needs of the pilgrims from Southern states intending to visit the holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.

Introduction of a special train between Jammu and Secunderabad will come as a boon for travellers to South from the city while it will also serve the needs of the pilgrims from Southern states intending to visit the holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.

Earlier, there was only one weekly train between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra and Yeswantpur (Bangaluru) which ran from Katra on Tuesday and from Yeswantpur on Thursday.

In an official announcement, the Railways said train no. 07067/07068 Secunderabad-Jammu Tawi-Secunderabad AC special fare special train will make two trips in each direction during this month to clear the extra rush of passengers.

The train-07067 Secunderabad-Jammu Tawi will depart from Secunderabad on July 21 and 28 at 3.30 pm to reach Jammu Tawi at 4.55 am on the third day. In the return direction, the 07068 Jammu Tawi-Secunderabad train will depart from Jammu Tawi on July 23 and 30 at 3.00 pm to reach Secunderabad at 5.50 am on the third day.

Comprising three AC-II Tier and eleven AC-III Tier coaches, the train will have stoppages at Charapalli, Kazipet, Ramagundam, Sirpur Kagaznagar, Ballarshah, Nagpur, Pandhuma, Betul, Itarsi, Habibganj, Beena, Jhansi, Gwalior, Agra Cantonment, Mathura, Delhi Safdarjung, Ambala Cantonment, Ludhiana, and Pathankot Cantonment stations en route in both the directions.

Extension of run

Meanwhile, for the convenience of rail passengers and to clear extra rush during the summer season, the Northern Railway has decided to extend the run of special train no. 04111/04112 and 04113/04114 Allahabad-Jammu Tawi-Allahabad weekly. The two trains will make total 28 trips during July and August.

The 04111/04112 Allahabad- Jammu Tawi- Allahabad weekly special fare special train will be extended to run on every Wednesday from July 13 to August 24, when departing from Allahabad and on every Thursday from July 14 to August 25, when departing from Jammu Tawi. The train will have 18 second class sitting coaches, one sleeper class coach, one AC-3 Tier and two SLR coaches.

Moreover, the 04113/04114 Allahabad- Jammu Tawi- Allahabad weekly special train will be extended to run on every Saturday from July 16 to August 27, when departing from Allahabad and on every Sunday from July 17 to August 28, when departing from Jammu Tawi. The train will have 12 sleeper class coaches, one AC-2 Tier, two AC-3 Tier coaches, five second class sitting coaches and two SLR coaches.

Both the trains will have stoppages at Pathankot, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Panipat, Delhi Junction, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Tundla, Etawah, Kanpur and Fatehpur.
