Taking precautionary measures against the threat of avian influenza, the Central Poultry Development Organisation (CPDO), North Region, has closed its doors for the general public and has set up a portable wireless amplifier to produce typical sounds to shoo away crows and other foreign birds (virus carriers) from its farm in the Industrial Area here.
Dr K Ravi Kumar, director of the CPDO, claimed that they had taken all precautionary measures against the virus at the farm.
The supplies would be restored only after getting the green signal from the UT Administration, said Dr Kumar.
