Rs 15.26 crore to improve water supply

HOSHIARPUR: To improve water distribution system in 24 villages of Hoshiarpur districts, the government will spent Rs 15.

To improve water distribution system in 24 villages of Hoshiarpur districts, the government will spent Rs 15.26 crore in this finanacial year.

 

This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Amit Dhaka here today. “Out of Rs 15.26 crore, Rs 2.32 crore would be spent on improving water supply in three villages. In the rest of the 21 villages, this project would be completed by March 31 and benefit 20,579 villages,” he said.

 

The Deputy Commissioner said for the development of these villages, the amount of grants given by the government had been doubled.

 

He said at a state-level felicitation function, 26 village panchayats of the state were hounoured. Khanpur Sahabudin village stood first and Khanpur Thiyada second. He said the responsibility of ensuring development of the villages had been assigned to the water and sanitation committees of the panchayats.
