People these days seem to be taking the freedom of speech quite literally on social media. Due to internet, media has become very fast in communicating news. But that’s not always a boon. Sometimes a lot of fake news spreads causing a lot of damage and chaos. What’s even worse is many celebs from Bollywood have suffered an early death on internet despite being hale and hearty in real life. Here’s a list of B-town actors who were killed on social media...

He is alive: Shashi Kapoor

Just recently, on Holi eve, rumours of legendary actor Shashi Kapoor passing away were all over internet until Rishi Kapoor dispelled all rumours. He took it to Twitter to announce that his uncle ‘is doing well and hopes this puts an end to all speculations. 

Anurag did it: Dilip Kumar

The veteran actor’s death was announced on Twitter by none other than Anurag Kashyap when Dilip Kumar was hospitalised. Of course, Kashyap tweeted apologies later but the damage was done. The fake news was viral on internet.

Sorry Asha: Asha Parekh

Actress Asha Parekh made to the list of celebs declared dead on social networking sites. A senior journalist announced on Twitter about her death which was untrue. Later, he clarified with deep apologies.

I am fine: Lata Mangeshkar

The nightingale of India also fell prey to this horrible hoax when somebody began a rumour of her being dead. People went completely crazy on Twitter offering condolences when Lata ji herself decided to put these rumours to rest. She assured by tweeting and telling her fans to not believe in baseless rumours. 

Just an accident: Amitabh Bachchan

He was reported to have been killed in an accident in the US. People even went ahead and started talking about the gruesome details of the accident and his funeral procession. Bachchan wasn’t pleased with these rumours and decided to ignore the utter nonsense going on.

It snowballed: Ayushmann Khurrana

Ayushmann Khurrana was also one of the many victims of this hoax. The actor had been on a family trip and was declared dead due to a snowboarding accident. Just when our broken hearts were getting accustomed to the news, Ayushmann himself confirmed that he was indeed alive and kicking.

Yo, you dead!: Honey Singh

The latest victim of this death hoax series is rapper-singer Yo Yo Honey Singh. Pictures were circulated on internet showing Honey in an unconscious state. The news shook the entire music industry, including his fans.
