The Government Medical College (GMC) organised an alumni meet of the 1966 MBBS batch here today. “As many as 100 medical graduates have arrived in the city to attend the two-day event,” said Dr Ranbir Singh Pannu, an eye specialist and member of the batch.

Apart from bringing alive memories of the good old days, the batch mates, prominent specialists in their respective fields, scattered all over the globe, also discussed various advances in the medical field during continuous medical education sessions organised on the day one.

Old college teachers, including Dr Balwant Singh Tung and Dr Kirpal Kaur, were also present on the occasion. Members of the organising committee of the event said they would also visit college on Sunday and see all places, which were still etched in their memories.

Dr Pannu said meeting old friends after almost four decades was encouraging. He said, “We take pride when we see that the people, who were in our class, have made a mark for themselves in the world.”
