104 students get jobs during placement drive

AMRITSAR: Seven students of 2016-18 batch of IIM (Amritsar) bagged job offers from reputed multi-national companies in a placement drive, which concluded on Thursday.

Seven students of 2016-18 batch of IIM (Amritsar) bagged international job offers from reputed multi-national companies in a placement drive, which concluded on Thursday.

The batch had an overall strength of 104 students and all of them were placed. At present, IIM (Amritsar) has the largest batch size among all the third generation IIMs.

The top 10% of students secured an average package of Rs 22.3 lakh per annum. The average salary offer for the outgoing batch is Rs 11.93 lakhs per annum, a significant increase of 16.28% from the previous year.

The students were offered roles across all prominent domains of management including marketing, finance, HR, operations, consulting, IT, analytics and general management to students. Prominent recruiters such as ICICI Lombard, Muthoot, Shopclues, Motilal Oswal, Amazon, Accenture, Tolaram, CRISIL, Infosys, Virtusa, TCS, SOTC-Thomas Cook and Walmart took part in the drive.

The students of the outgoing batch hail from different courses including BA, BSc, BCom and BBA and comprise of both freshers and experienced students. The batch had 43 freshers and the remaining had an experience ranging from several months to years.

Expressing his satisfaction with the placement outcomes, Mentor-Director Prof Kulbhushan Balooni said, “I am happy and satisfied with the progress of the institute.”
