The potable water samples recently collected by the Health Department from various localities have put residents in a quandary. The 11 collected samples where MC has been supplying water have failed.

Ravinder Sultanwind, one of the complaint alleged that the MC officials were in deep slumber and never respond to water sample reports.

“After repeated complaints, the MC officials agreed to collect 11 samples from areas where residents complained of contaminated water being supplied. All the 11 samples have failed. The Health Department has handed over the report to the executive engineer. However, no one has visited us from the MC,” said Sultanvind.

He said as a result, residents have been suffering from jaundice and other gastro problems.

Superintending Engineer of Operation and Maintenance wing of MC Anurag Mahajan said, “There is no problem in the water. We supply clean water. The residents often install illegal connection without informing MC. Moreover, residents do not change their damaged pipes.”

He further said that they have witnessed some issue in the Ramanad Bagh and Nehru Colony, which would be addressed at the earliest by the MC workers .
