AMRITSAR: The police have booked two persons on the rape charge. The 14-year-old victim narrated the incident to her mother, who lodged a complaint with the police.

The police have booked two persons on the rape charge. The 14-year-old victim narrated the incident to her mother, who lodged a complaint with the police.

The suspects have been identified as Jagpreet Masih and his brother Joban Masih.

The victim’s mother told the police that when she returned home on Thursday, her daughter did not open the door. She said later, one of the suspects opened the gate and fled away.

She added that her daughter said one of the suspects entered the house and sexually assaulted her. According to information, one of the suspects was outside the home.

The police said raids were on to nab the suspects while medical examination of the victim was also conducted.

A case under Sections 376 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 4 and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual offence (POCSO) Act has been registered against the suspects.

Man booked for outraging girl’s modesty

The Ajnala police have booked Sukhraj Singh of Teda Kalan village for allegedly outrage modesty of a minor girl. Though the incident occurred on August 6, a complaint was lodged only on Thursday.

The victim said the accused was following her on a bike at Makam village when she, along with her siblings, was returning home after attending the school.

The victim said when she reached near the village, the accused caught hold of her and molested her. She said the accused fled away when they raised the alarm. She said her father also reached the spot.

A case under Sections 354, 341 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 12 of POCSO Act has been registered against Sukhraj. He is yet to be arrested.
