The Sultanwind police have arrested three snatchers in two cases and recovered gold ornaments.
Rajinder Singh alias Gurminderjit Singh alias Lucky and Happy Thapar, both residents of Medical Enclave here, were arrested near the Sultanwind drain. ACP Manjit Singh and Sultanwind SHO Neeraj Kumar said the suspects were arrested following a tip-off. They were travelling on a scooter when a police team intercepted them. They had snatched a purse from a woman near Karam Singh Hospital three days ago. The police recovered the purse, a gold necklace, a pair of gold earrings (weighing over 20 gm) besides other material. They said more recoveries were likely during further interrogation. The police them in a court and got them on police remand.
Meanwhile, Randhir Singh, a resident of Roriwala village in Tarn Taran, has been arrested for mobile theft. SHO Neeraj said the mobile was stolen by Randhir’s son Kuldeep Singh and his accomplices Gurpartap Singh from Satish Kumar Mohindru. The accused entered his shop and involved him in conversation to make him confused.
Meanwhile, they stole the mobile phone. The SHO said raids were on to arrest Kuldeep and Gurpartap.
