3 nabbed with drugs, cash, vehicles seized

The CIA staff has arrested three persons, including a couple, for drug peddling. The police recovered 200 gm heroin and drug money of Rs 1.80 lakh from their possession. A car and a scooter have also been impounded.

The accused have been identified as Surinder Singh alian Sonu of Kangra Colony (now resides at New Partap Nagar), Karam Singh and his wife Paramjit Kaur of Sarai Sant Ram, Nawan Kot in Islamabad area. A case under Sections 21, 25, 29, 62 and 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against him.

The police said they had got a tip-off about the accused. Meanwhile, Karam Singh and his wife came on a scooter for allegedly procuring heroin from Surinder Singh when they were arrested.

According to the police, the accused were produced before the duty magistrate who sent them to police custody for interrogation.

The police are trying to ascertain the source from whom they got the drugs. They used to sell the same to youth in Islamabad and other parts of the city.
