Amid swine flu threat, patients with symptoms of dengue and chikungunya are being reported in the city. Health officials have received reports of at least 44 suspected cases of dengue and one suspected case of chikungunya.
District Epidemiologist Dr Madan Mohan claimed that the lab reports of all 45 patients reported so far were negative.
The department has also received a report about a suspected swine flu patient from Tarn Taran district. Dr Madan Mohan said, “We have so far received a communication from Tarn Taran authorities but the samples are yet to be received which will be examined at the swine flu testing lab at Government Medical College.”
He said the district administration had already constituted teams of health and MC officials under the supervision of naib tehsildars to conduct inspection in different areas besides initiating fogging where ever required.
