48 BJP workers join Congress in presence of DCC chief

AMRITSAR: Several BJP workers joined Congress at residence of the party MLA and the PPCC vice-president, Om Parkash Soni, in presence of the District Congress Committee (DCC), urban, president, Jugal Kishor Sharma, today.

Amritsar, January 9

Several BJP workers joined Congress at residence of the party MLA and the PPCC vice-president, Om Parkash Soni, in presence of the District Congress Committee (DCC), urban, president, Jugal Kishor Sharma, today.

Sharma welcomed them into the party by offering siropa (robe of honour). Among the 48 BJP workers, who joined Congress, include Naresh Bhagat, had contested as councillor from Ward No. 48, Rajesh Gill and Parmod Gill, brothers of BJP leader Rakesh Gill, besides Abhishek, office-bearer of saffron party’s legal cell.

Rakesh Gill had unsuccessfully contested from Amritsar (West) constituency in the last Assembly elections. Speaking on the occasion Soni said all these BJP workers were disappointed with policies of the party. He said the BJP does not value its workers. — TNS
