Another cop assaulted in marriage palace

AMRITSAR: In yet another incident, a policeman was beaten up by several persons at a marriage palace in the Jandiala Guru area when he along with an excise team raided the palace to check the liquor being served there.

In yet another incident, a policeman was beaten up by several persons at a marriage palace in the Jandiala Guru area when he along with an excise team raided the palace to check the liquor being served there.

Constable Satnam Singh of the Indian Reserve Battalion and a resident of Kalanaur (Gurdaspur) stated to the police that he along with the excise inspector, Navtej Singh, had gone to the Star palace in Jandiala Guru to check the license of the liquor being served when the accused attacked and injured him besides damaging government vehicles. He was admitted to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital here.

Among those booked include Tajinder Singh , Sukhwinder Kaur, Shankar Singh, Angrej Singh, Sukhwinder Kaur and several unidentified persons. The Jandiala police have registered a case under Sections 353, 186, 332, 427, 148 and 149, IPC, against them while no arrest has been made so far.
