Biker tears cop’s uniform, arrested

AMRITSAR: The city police has arrested a person, who tore the uniform of a cop when he was intercepted on his way and questioned about his being under the influence of intoxicants.

The city police has arrested a person, who tore the uniform of a cop when he was intercepted on his way and questioned about his being under the influence of intoxicants. The accused has been identified as Ajmer Singh, son of Joga Singh, a resident of Rampura village near Gharinda. Assistant Sub-Inspector Parmjit Singh from the Kabir Park police post stated that he along with a police team laid a naka near the Kabir Park police post on the eve of Holi festival. They have been keeping a vigil on the anti-social elements.

Paramjjit Singh stated that the accused, Ajmer Singh, came on his Harley motorcycle. The cops found that he was under the influence of some drug. On the directions of the ASI, constable Ajay Kumar intercepted him. The accused then entered into a brawl with the constable and tore his uniform. When he stopped the accused, the accused entered into verbal duel with him too.

The police has registered a case under Sections 353/332/186 of the IPC and arrested the accused.
