Amritsar, December 16

Fearing the threat of malpractices in civic polls tomorrow from leaders of the ruling Congress party, BJP activists today held a protest march up to the district courts today.

Led by district president of the BJP Rajesh Honey and Rajya Sabha member Shwait Mailk gave a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner KS Sangha in this regard.

They alleged that goons and anti-social elements were openly threatening people to vote in favour of the ruling party candidates. They alleged that some police officials were also working in favour of the candidates of the ruling party. They alleged the scenario indicated that large-scale manipulation and disruption may take place during the polls.

They sought strict vigilance around polling booths and demanded videography of the casting of ballots, so that voting should take place impartially and peacefully.
