Blind murder of liquor contractor’s employee solved

AMRITSAR: The city police today claimed to have cracked the murder case here of a liquor contractor’s employee with the arrest of two persons. The accused have been identified as Gurpal Singh alias Kala and Pandit Darshan Pal alias Vickka. The accused had murdered the man over a paltry sum of Rs 500.

The city police today claimed to have cracked the murder case here of a liquor contractor’s employee with the arrest of two persons. The accused have been identified as Gurpal Singh alias Kala and Pandit Darshan Pal alias Vickka. The accused had murdered the man over a paltry sum of Rs 500.

The Maqbolpura police had found the body of Vallah resident Goldi from Mehta Road on May 5. The postmortem report of the Goldi revealed that the cause of death was a fatal attack on his head. The police had registered a case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code against an unidentified person and started investigating the case.

Gagandeep Singh, SHO, Maqboolpura police stated, “During investigations, we found that victim Goldi used to work with a liquor contractor. The accused were also working with the same contractor. On May 24, Kala and Vickka came to Goldi’s residence. They took him along while being under the influence of liquor”.

The accused confessed that Goldi took Rs 500 from an illegal liquor trader. Kala and Pandit were asking him to share the money. They entered into a scuffle over the money. Kala picked up a wooden stick and attacked Goldi. He fell down on the ground and died on the spot. The accused fled from the spot after leaving Goldi’s body behind, said the SHO.
