Brutal murder of woman: Victim was strangulated first, electrocuted later

The police today claimed to have got some vital clues in the brutal murder of 25-year-old woman, identified as Alka. Meanwhile, the post-mortem examination of the deceased revealed that it was one of the most gruesome murder in the recent past.

According to sources the victim was first strangulated to death. Later, she was given electric shocks at various parts of the body, including her breasts and genital areas by suspects.

The unidentified persons had also inserted around two-feet-long sharp-edged weapon in her private organ. Later, they attached electric wires with the sword, which badly burnt inside organs of the deceased.

It has been learnt that the medical board will submit its report to the police by Monday. The autopsy was conducted after forming a medical board at the Government Medical College here today. Going through the nature of the crime, the Civil Hospital authorities had recommended the police to get the post-mortem examination conducted from doctors of the Department of Forensic Science at Government Medical College.

Police officials confirmed that a sword was inserted inside her private parts. They said the autopsy report would clear whether the victim was killed due to strangulation or by electrocution.

The police sources said that it appears to be a case of ‘sexual jealously’ and the accused wanted to teach her a lesson.

Officials said the accused later decamped with cash, gold and silver ornaments in order to make the incident look like a robbery. However, they quickly added that it was all part of the investigations, which was under progress.

The police is also cheking call details of the deceased to find any clues about the killers.

Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Lakhwinder Singh said the police team found a piece of a paper from dustbin on which “I miss you” was written. The accused left the mobile phones after taking away SIM cards. Cold drink bottles were found in the drawing room where the victim was killed.

The police also found a chemical powder from the spot, which was sent for examination. The evidence points towards the role of an insider, who might be known to the deceased.

“Yes, an insider’s role cannot be ruled out, but the matter is still under investigations,” said the ADCP.
