When it comes to fashion, the focus more or less revolves around women. However, with the passage of time, the attitude of men has witnessed a change, though little, in the city, say fashion designers. City-based fashion designers are keen on presenting the men fashion in a new light.
Mukesh Mehra, who owns Maahi Studio, a men clothing store, feels that men have not been fashion conscious but the things are changing gradually. “City men these days want to experiment rather than sticking to customary-hued suits. One can go for tight-fitting ones with geometric patterns. Simple yet classy flamboyant look is in trend,” he says.
Vishal Mehra, who co-owns VAVCI, feels men’s fashion of the 21st century has drastically changed.
“Earlier, every design used to be black, blue or white, but now men are picking up dhotis, cuts, bright feminine colours and drapes. Ranveer Singh is one of a few celebrities whose fashion style is being followed by many. The residents are asking for the same.”
But there are many youngsters who prefer being self than any fashion fad. For them, comfort and design matter the most.
Fashion is an accessory but being self is the true fashion, says Amit Bedi, who owns Nawaab Studio. He has been in the industry for the past three years. “Fashion is a reflection of one’s personality. Being comfortable yet trendy is the key. Pairing a red shirt with white pants can make you stand out in the crowd,” he adds.
