Amritsar, May 24

Congress workers took out a motorcycle rally in protest against the high prices of petrol and diesel here on Thursday. The protest was organised under the leadership of PPCC general secretary Sonu Jaffar.

Later, the protesters burnt an effigy of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Speaking on the occasion, the PPCC general secretary said that under the present government, prices of petrol and diesel had been skyrocketing.

He said that while taxes as GST had affected businesses, the common person cannot go out for work due to high prices of fuel. He said that the public would teach a lesson to the BJP in the 2019 elections.
