The authorities have initiated steps to give a new look to the Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) campus.

The university authorities have installed new signboards on the campus. These signboards having a uniform colour scheme have been put up at various important points. Information on these boards has been given in English and Punjabi.

Besides signboards, the authorities have also installed students’ walls. These have been put up in the university to help students interact with each other and share their problems with the higher authorities.

A spokesperson for the university said, “The idea of installing signboards and walls is to provide students a chance to interact with one another. These are an added feature of the university this year. Students can share their problems and inform about the inter-departmental activities to officials. We wish to make this educational institute an interactive hub.”

The university will also have flags of all of its affiliated colleges on their premises. The objective of the move is to provide a representation to the colleges, which are 146 in numbers.

These flags will bear a logo of respective college. The colleges will take care of their logos and flags. The work on the same is being carried out by the university authorities.

Karanjeet Singh Kahlon, Registrar, GNDU, said, “We wish to include every college in this flag initiative. The colleges certainly have a great connection with their university. Students of these colleges will feel inspired if their flags are hoisted.”
