The Punjab Roadways has started new express buses for passengers going to Delhi and Chandigarh from today.
Punjab Roadways, Amritsar, general manager Inderjit Singh Chawla said earlier, as the buses went to the Jalandhar bus stand, it increased the time of the journey.
He said most passengers preferred to leave the bus at PAP Chowk in Jalandhar and then take another bus to save time.
Chawla said a few adjustments had been made for halts as a result which the time taken for the journey to Chandigarh has reduced by one hour.
He said now, buses would reach in five hours. New buses would provide comfortable journey to passengers at affordable cost and pose a challenge to private transporters, he added.
