Facility of video conferencing at Civil Hospital

AMRITSAR: The Health Department has equipped the Jallianwala Bagh Martyrs Memorial Civil Hospital with the videoconferring facility to enable doctors attend court hearings in various cases.

Amritsar, May 28

The Health Department has equipped the Jallianwala Bagh Martyrs Memorial Civil Hospital with the videoconferring facility to enable doctors attend court hearings in various cases. As the statements of doctors are needed by courts in cases in which medico-legal proceedings are initiated, it affects medical services at the hospitals.

“Now, doctors will not have to travel to court to appear. It will help in saving a lot of time,” said Senior Medical Officer Dr Rajinder Arora. He said the system would also enable the officials to attend meetings with seniors in Chandigarh.

“Instead of waiting for their turn at courts, they can now easily attend to patients until their turn comes up,” he said.

Health officials said the doctors can also consult their colleagues in other hospitals using the system in case they need help in dealing with complicated cases. “It will not only reduce the burden on doctors,” he added. — TNS
