The Executive Staff Union of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) staged a protest outside its office here on Wednesday. Rakesh Kumar, district president of the union, said the protest was organised on the call of the national body of the union.

"Delay in the wage revision for the FCI employees and decision over deduction of PLI amount of category III and IV employees by keeping allowances under the ceiling of 50% of the basic pay, besides harassment of the field staff are some of the issues being faced by the employees," he said.

Kumar said the harassment of the field staff on account of alleged abnormal shortage, rail transit loss, quality control lapses should be immediately stopped. He said that they had also demanded improvement in service conditions for the field staff.
