Five-year-old girl goes missing from gurdwara

A minor girl, Kanchan (5), belonging to a migrant family was allegedly kidnapped from Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Deep Singh here. The police have registered a case under Section 363, IPC, on the statement of her mother Sangeeta.

Sangeeta, who lives in Dashmesh Avenue, here, said her husband had gone to Bihar and she, along with her three children, had gone to the shrine to pay obeisance.

She said at 12.30 pm when she went to take ‘karah parshad’ and returned, she found her daughter missing while her two sons were playing there.

She said she searched for her in nearby places but could not find her. She suspected that some unidentified persons had kidnapped her.

Vijay Kumar, investigating officer, said investigations were under progress and a close watch was being kept at the city railway station and the bus stand.
